FREDERICTON, NB - The province's Emergency Measures Organization is advising New Brunswickers to be prepared for Earl.
EMO Director Andrew Morton said everyone should have at least 72 hours worth of supplies on hand.
"What we're asking people to do is to have food, water, medications, any essential items that they may require for the next three days. And if for some reason they have to leave home, have the ability to throw it in a kitbag and take it with them."
He also says homeowners need to take precautions in case of localized flooding, and to secure or remove objects from their yards that could be blown around by the strong winds expected.
Morton also advises against unnecessary travel.
Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick is expecting up to 70 mm of rain to fall with winds gusting up to 90 km/h.
