HALIFAX, N.S. - Former Codiac RCMP Sgt. Mark Gallagher, killed in the January 12th Haiti earthquake, was remembered in Halifax today, where he had also served with the RCMP as a media spokesperson.

The memorial was held at St. Agnes Church.

Members of the Nova Scotia RCMP and Halifax Police Force attended, along with
Gallagher's widow Lisa and son Shane.

Gallagher was remembered as a patient teacher and true humanitarian.

He was in Haiti to help train the local police force.

Meantime, hundreds turned out for his funeral in Woodstock on January 28th.

As well, an overflow location at the Moncton Wesleyan Church also had a full house.

Gallagher had just returned to Haiti after Christmas at home when the powerful earthquake struck.
