Health officials say N.B. to get 40,000 more swine flu doses next week
FREDERICTON, N.B. - Health officials in New Brunswick say 40,000 more doses of swine flu vaccine are expected to arrive in the province by the middle of next week. They say over 140,000 people are expected to have received the shot by the weekend. Dr. Eilish Cleary, New Brunswick's chief medical officer of health, says there has been 33 hospitalizations of people infected with the virus this week bringing the total number to 38 since the pandemic arrived in April. Cleary says the focus of the vaccinations will continue for children, pregnant woman and First Nations communities and those with chronic illness under the age of 65.
