Wildcats battle swine flu
MONCTON, NB - Members of the Moncton Wildcats are being quarantined after an outbreak of swine flu. The teams doctor, Martin Robichaud confirms two players have tested positive for the H1N1 virus. He says 15 additional players and team staff are suffering from similar symptoms. So far, no one's been hospitalized. An article on the team's website says they have been advised to quarantine all infected players and staff for approximately seven days. The team made headlines earlier this week when it was learned that all players were vaccinated against the swine flu on Friday, even though some would not be in a priority group. On Sunday, the team had to cancel a home game when they couldn't find enough healthy players to suit up. It's unclear at this time how the outbreak will affect the team's schedule. Both the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Wildcats will have more to say on the issue later this morning. |
