Province defends H1N1 vaccination program
MONCTON, NB - As more swine flu vaccination clinics are postponed across our region, provincial officials are defending their rollout of the vaccine. Premier Shawn Graham is applauding the work of public health in vaccinating more than 82-thousand New Brunswickers to date. He says New Brunswick has vaccinated more people per capita than any other jurisdiction in the country. Provincial Health Minister Mary Schreyer says they're vaccinating people as quickly as possible and is asking people to be patient. Schreyer says more vaccine will arrive tomorrow, albeit about a quarter of what they had been anticipating. Dr. Eilish Cleary, the province's Chief Medical Officer of Health says there have been more cases of swine flu in the province, but the majority have been minor. |
