Female cab driver assaulted and robbed
MONCTON, N.B. - A female cab driver in Moncton suffered non life-threatening injuries after being assaulted and robbed early this morning. Codiac RCMP Constable Chantal Farrah says the driver picked up a male passenger on University Avenue shortly after 6am. She drove him to Mapleton Road near Highway 2, and he suddenly attacked her while the car was pulled over on the side of the road. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Codiac RCMP are investigating. The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid twenties, wearing dark clothing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Codiac RCMP or Crimestoppers. |
