FREDERICTON, N.B. – New Brunswick’s Liberal Leader strongly believes recent EI reforms will hurt the the province’s seasonal industries including tourism.

Brian Gallant is continuing to pressure Premier David Alward to persuade Ottawa to reverse the EI reforms so people will consider seasonal jobs

Smaller businesses with in the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick are already expressing concern over where they will find workers.

Association President Kathy Weir says while hiring more students is a great option they are a short term solution.

“Mid August is when students have to leave employment to go back to their educations and in New Brunswick, our summers tend to be in August and September.”

Numerous rallies and protests against EI reform have been held in New Brunswick since the changes took affect in January.
