RIVERVIEW, N.B. – Students and staff at Riverview High School packed the gymnasium today to “Rally for Change” and prevent bullying.

February 27 is National Pink Shirt Day meant to raise awareness of the issue of bullying in school and elsewhere.

Teacher and co-organizer Alison Bartlett says their theme for the fourth annual event was “Positive Change” pointing out that one person can make a difference when it comes to stopping a bully.

“We wanted to focus on the positive and we also wanted to pay particular attention to the majority of people who are really bystanders and the power that even one bystander has to make a positive change for that victim.”

The event is the biggest of its kind in Greater Moncton and included live music and video presentations created by the students themselves.
