SHEDIAC, NB–Hundreds of people including labour leaders, workers and ordinary citizens showed up at the Shediac Service Canada Office carrying placards to send a message.

Protesters say the new Employment Insurance rules aren’t fair, especially to seasonal workers.  They’re calling on the Harper government to scrap the changes.

Many speakers at the rally voiced anger about the lack of opposition from New Brunswick’s Conservatives MP’s noting only two federal politicians in the province,  NDP MP Yvon Godin  and Liberal Dominic Leblanc have spoken out against EI reforms.

The rally ended with a March through the streets of Shediac, and with the announcement of another rally to take place in Moncton on March 8th.
