MONCTON, NB–It’s the end of an era for the Moncton Lions Club.
Over 50 years of community bingo will come to an end tonight.
Declining attendance and changing demographics has meant that the Lions Club can’t afford to run bingo nights anymore.
The centre located at 55 Mark Avenue has raised millions for local organizations through its bingo games.
The Club itself isn’t closing down, but it will now rely on its hall rentals to keep it going, and it will find other ways to continue helping to donate to local organizations.
