MONCTON, NB – The Director of Player Safety of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has suspended Ross Johnston of the Moncton Wildcats for a total of 15 games.
Raymond Bolduc says he reached his decision after having viewed videos of the stick-swinging incident, looked at the medical report and talked to the players and teams involved.
Brian Lovell of the Halifax Mooseheads suffered a broken jaw in the incident during a game Saturday in Halifax.
Wildcats spokesperson Ryan Jenner says the team has received the suspension notice from the league office and released a statement.
“We will be internally reviewing all of our options with the management team. We will make a decision on our course of actions in the coming days.”
