MONCTON, NB – The City of Moncton has been taking some heat over the poor condition of streets following the most recent snowstorm.
Many complaints have been coming from drivers and today the city issued a statement responding to recent snow removal operations.
City officials say drifting snow proved to be a major issue during the recent storm with cars packing down the snow after it drifted creating a layer of ice.
They say the packed snow and ice is difficult for equipment to remove which became a problem on many streets in the city.

Snow removal was a challenge because they don’t put on crews on the weekends (so they don’t pay overtime) and we got hit with two weekend storms in a row.
That would be a start. Most lazy snow removal i have ever seen. Its all done to save $ and we have to pay for it with broke hips and bashed up cars.
Hmmm maybe salting would be a good idea
