MONCTON, NB – A Universite de Moncton student has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash on Morton Avenue early this morning.

A message on the U de M website says the victim was 21-year-old Julien Daigle of Baie Ste. Anne.

The accident happened shortly after 2-am, when a vehicle hit a hydro pole near the Crowley Farm Road.

Codiac RCMP say the victim died at the scene.

They say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Speed is believed to have been a factor.
