MONCTON, N.B. - A two year prison sentence and five year driving ban has been handed down to a 25-year-old Moncton woman who pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing death.
Alina Mikholouk was behind the wheel of a car that struck and killed Reginald William Davis on April 21, 2011.
The 52-year-old Sussex area man was attempting to hitch a ride on the westbound Trans-Canada highway on ramp at Elmwood Drive.
He later died in hospital.
Before sentencing, Mikholouk told court she regrets her decision to get behind the wheel that day takes full responsibility for her actions.
