MONCTON, NB–It’s true what they say about Maritimers, they really have generous hearts.

The group “Blankets for Moncton”  has been overwhelmed with donations.  This is the organization’s sixth year.

They collect things like pillows,  winter coats,  toques,  soap, shampoo,  backpacks, toiletries,  bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, dishcloths, dish towels, sandwich bags, diapers, feminine products, and other items for those who may be down on their luck.

Executive Director Nadine Lipton says several families have been affected by fires recently, and are currently in need of donations.

“We’re looking for beds, and it doesn’t have to be a full bed.  It can be a frame or a box spring and mattress.  We’re also looking for men’s winter coats and heavy blankets.”

Items can be dropped off at D.R Recycling on Edinburgh Drive, or for more information, visit their website www.blanketsformoncton.com.
