RIVERVIEW, N.B. – Residents of Riverview elected a new mayor in 2012 following the retirement of Clarence Sweetland.

Ann Seamans defeated two opponents to become the town’s first female mayor.

She says she’s enjoyed her first seven months on the job.

In a year-end interview on McLean in the Morning, Seamans says after 14 years on council, she felt it was time to take the next step.

Seamans says one of her main priorities moving forward is ensuring Riverview gets better bus service from Codiac Transpo in the months ahead.

“We will sit down with them in the new year and see what we can do to make changes to make it better.”

She adds the big complaint she hears from Riverview residents is wait times for bus service, and she would like to see that improved in 2013.
