MONCTON, NB–A new Head Coach for the Moncton Miracles is expected to be named this weekend.

We learned this week that Head Coach Ricky Benitez was fired from the team.

Miracles President Kim Blanco says it was a tough decision, but it was the right one.

“It had nothing to do with players approaching us about anything.  It was just an overall decision.  An organization never wants to fire their coach mid-season and have to go through that difficulty of having to find a new coach, but sometimes you have to make those tough decisions and the tough the decisions are the right ones in the end.”

Moncton native Serge Langis has been named as interim head coach.

The Miracles will play the Saint John Mill Rats at Harbour Station tomorrow, and their next home game is Sunday against the Halifax Rainmen.
