MONCTON, NB – An application to rezone Budd Lane in the Lewisville neighbourhood has some residents up in arms over a developer’s plans to build two 12-unit apartment buildings.
Area resident Heather Drummond told a public hearing that she fears losing green space.
“From a living perspective, having the density of people in that area is a little bit too much. It would be nice to keep some green space because at this point that’s the only green space around the area,” noted Drummond.
Other residents are worried about increased traffic and the impact on local infrastructure such as the sewer system.
Moncton City Council has moved to table the rezoning to at least mid-February until residents have a chance to meet with the developer about their concerns.
