MONCTON, NB – An annual Christmas tradition gets underway in Greater Moncton this afternoon.

Volunteers are needed to help deliver Christmas food boxes to needy families in the area.

Dale Hicks of Food Depot Alimentaire says if anyone can help out, they are asked to come to the Coliseum.

“Starting at noon, we will start delivery.  So between noon and mid-afternoon, if anyone wants to come and get in line to delivery boxes, they are welcome to come up.”

This year’s goal of 1850 boxes was reached yesterday afternoon.

Hicks adds any extra donations will be used to help supply food banks over the coming winter months.
