MONCTON, NB – It’s the news that bus riders have been waiting to hear for five months.

Codiac Transpo will be launching partial bus service on December 17.

Planner Marie-Claire Pierce says 10 bus routes will be up and running on that date and bus service will be free until January 31.

Pearce says three mechanics have returned to work and have been getting the buses ready for the road and three new mechanics have also been hired.

All but one bus driver has decided to return to work.

Riders holding a July bus permit will be able to use it during the month of February.

The taxi chit program will remain in place until full bus service is restored in late January.
