MONCTON, NB – In its third annual report card, the New Brunswick Health Council has given the province a “C” grade in the delivery of health services.

CEO Stephane Robichaud says although the grade is the same as last year, there are some areas in which the province does well.

“Treatable conditions or acute care… life and limb.  In other words, one of the areas we’ve looked at is death before the age of 75 and if the cause was a treatable cause, something that could be dealt with, then we tend to fare very well.”

Robichaud says New Brunswick needs to improve in the area of health prevention.

Once people develop chronic conditions, he adds more work is needed to manage those conditions.
