SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Support continues to increase for the idea of bringing a pipeline carrying western Canadian crude oil all the way east to the Irving Oil refinery in Saint John.

Former Premier Frank McKenna supports the idea and the provincial Liberals and NDP say they are also willing to show support for the initiative.

Liberal Leader Brian Gallant tells us his party also wants the governing Conservatives to work harder to create economic conditions that will help all companies grow in New Brunswick.

“It can be strategic investments in infrastructure can be investments in transportation, investments in a skilled work force, investments in insuring that we have access to capital for small and medium size businesses, it could be to insure that we have a proactive economic development agencies throughout the province.”

McKenna has written a number of articles in various Canadian newspapers, saying the pipeline would be a game changer for New Brunswick.
