MONCTON, N.B. – The Moncton Fire Department has launched its annual safety campaign “Keep the Wreath Green”.
All fire stations have wreaths, and when there is a fire, they replace a green bulb with a red one.
Fire prevention officer Jim Banks says the campaign brings safety to the forefront during December when extra hazards are present, such as candles, Christmas trees that can catch fire if not watered enough, and overloaded power outlets.
The wreaths do have one red bulb already.
One person escaped without injury after a house fire on Isaiah Road on December 3.
