FREDERICTON – NB Power is telling its customers to be wary of phone calls that claim to be coming from the company.

The utility says scammers are calling customers to obtain billing information, or try to sell them a device that can supposedly save them money on energy bills.

NB Power says they’re not trying to sell the devices, and they’re not endorsing the sale of them.

It says customers who receive these calls should contact police or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
