FREDERICTON, N.B. – New Brunswick’s health minister has announced a five year plan he says will ensure patients have access to healthcare in either English or French.
Ted Flemming told the provincial legislature today that the plan includes a list of new and expanded services that are intended to improve accessibility and the delivery of services.
Flemming says when new health services are added in the future, the government will try to locate them in a district that currently does not offer it.
The plan is in response to complaints that services were not equally distributed between the Horizon Health Network, and the Vitalite Health Network,
Doctor Hubert Dupuis, president of Egalite sante en francais, calls it an historic day in the province that he believes
will bring equality in the delivery of health services.
