MONCTON, N.B. – Closing arguments are being heard today from the Crown and defence in the Fred Prosser first-degree murder trial.
The jury will begin deliberations on Monday.
The 33 year-old Shenstone man is accused in the death of his ex-girlfriend Sabrina Patterson.
Prosser is charged with sexual assault and sexual assault causing bodily harm, in addition to the first-degree murder charge.
The Crown finished its case on Wednesday, after calling witnesses who testified that Prosser had stated he wanted to choke Patterson.
Forensic experts also testified for the Crown.
The defence wrapped up their case yesterday without calling any witnesses.
