MONCTON, NB–Gruesome testimony sent chills down the spines of those who were in a Moncton courtroom yesterday for the first degree murder trial of Fred Prosser.
Now retired Forensic Pathologist Dr. Kalman Protzner performed the autopsy on Sabrina Patterson’s body. He testified that Patterson received several injuries to various parts of her body including the head, neck and vagina, and that she died of manual strangulation.
He also stated that it’s not clear if the injuries occurred before or after she was killed.
Patterson’s brother says the testimony was very difficult. “To hear something like that being done any human being is hard to grasp. It’s hard to realise that something like that could happen.”
Prosser is accused of the first degree murder, sexual assault and sexual assault causing bodily harm of 25-year-old Sabrina Patterson.
She was reported missing on October 29th, 2010, and her body was found about a week later in the Shenstone region.
The crown is expected wrap up its case this week.
The trial will continue in a Moncton courtroom today.
