MONCTON, N.B. – A series of exhibits became the focus for the defence in the first-degree murder trial of Fred Prosser today.

Defence lawyer Scott Fowler cross-examined RCMP Constable Matt Roy, a former member of the Codiac detachment, who received and assigned numbers to exhibits in the case.

Roy testified several exhibits were reported missing in June 2012 and they were nowhere to be found after an exhaustive search of the bond room and the entire detachment.

Fowler stated the missing exhibits jeopardized the entire sanctity of the bond room, and Roy agreed.

Court heard the exhibits were found earlier this month, and Roy believes the exhibits were always there and it was a case of human error.

Earlier today, several RCMP officers testified about the search for Sabrina Patterson’s body.

Court heard a Shenstone area resident directed officers to a body on Shaw Road on November 6, 2010, and the remains were later transferred to the Moncton Hospital.

Funeral home employees testified the body was transferred to Saint John the next for an autopsy.

The trial will continue on Tuesday.
