MONCTON, NB – Moncton is poised to become the leader in the Maritimes for tourism dollars for the third year in a row.

Industry consultant Rod Cunningham says Moncton continues to outperform other cities for visitors and the casino may be a big factor.

“I just look at your numbers and they are so good compared to what everyone is doing that you have to add the pieces together.  I can’t help but feel the casino added a lot to your product,” he notes.

Cunningham told city council that although Moncton may have lost some of its competitive advantage in the retail sector, the Hub City is still thriving.

He adds Moncton still has a good reputation for shopping, restaurants and attractions.
