MONCTON, NB–There’s no end in sight in the Codiac Transpo dispute, but a visually impaired couple is hoping an online petition might encourage the two sides to get back to the negotiating table.

Maurice Larade tells Global News that 150 people have already signed their name to the petition over the past two days.

“I think 150 signatures in two days, it shows me that for the most past the residents are in agreement.”

He says this lockout has taken its toll on his family, financially, mentally and physically, and we can no longer support the drivers.

“Without the buses, it’s taken our independence away.  It has taken our pride away.”

The lockout began at the end of June and several negotiating sessions between the city and the union, have broken down.
