MONCTON, NB – Thanks to generosity from the Crowne Plaza and Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc., the Salvation Army has opened a Christmas depot at the corner of Main and Bonnacord Streets.

Director Natasha Burkett says the former bus station will be operation central for packing toy bags and food hampers and distributing them to the needy.

“It’s very visible and very accessible to those who need it.  A lot of people live downtown and transportation, as we all know, is an issue… so we’re very grateful for that and we certainly couldn’t have done it without them,” she notes.

Burkett says they are seeking toys, food and cash donations which can be dropped off at the depot or at the Salvation Army office on King Street.

She adds they also need volunteers for the kettle campaign which is now underway.
