SUSSEX, NB – PotashCorp is temporarily laying off workers at it’s mine near Sussex.
The Saskatoon-based company cites slumping demand as it looks to shut down the mine from December 30th to February 23rd.
The company will also temporarily shut down the Allan, Lanigan and Rocanville mines in Saskatchewan.
The fertilizer producer reported last month that its third-quarter profit fell 22 per cent from a year ago.
Chief executive, Bill Doyle says he expects demand to pick up next year.
