It felt more like September than November in Greater Moncton yesterday when the thermometer climbed to 18.1 degrees Celsius beating the old record of 17.3 from 1984.
Our Meteorologist Richard Zurawski says this was the case in several communities across New Brunswick.
“Certainly for the middle of November, it was unusual. A lot of records were set of across the region and those places that did not set records, got close to records.”
The warmest spot in the province was Fredericton at 19.8 degrees Celsius, which is also a new record eclipsing 17.9 Celsius from 1995.
Environment Canada reports other records fell in Bouctouche at 19.3 Celsius and Point Lepreau at 15.7 Celsius.
Zurawski says, “We’ll see those warm termperatures continue today, but they’ll dip back down to normal temps tomorrow. Normal temperatures should be hovering around four and seven degrees for the daytime high, and just around the freezing mark or slightly below for the low.”
