SAINT JOHN, N.B.- Toronto company Investigative Solutions Network will be paid 100 thousand dollars for the first part of its investigation into new allegations that have come to light surrounding former police officer Ken Estabrooks.
Estabrooks was convicted in 1999 of sexually abusing children dating back to the 1950′s. He died in 2005
Saint John City Manager Pat Woods says victims who were abused by Estabrooks are being offered counselling and so far no limits on the cost of the counselling have been set aside. “We haven’t set a limit on it because we want to make sure that the individuals receive the counselling they need”, says Woods. “As long as they are participating and benefiting from it the intent is to allow it to continue”.
Woods says so far they have not had any financial claims made against the city from any of the abuse victims
