FREDERICTON, N.B. – New Brunswickers are heading south of the border to help the U.S. recover from the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy this week.

NB Power says 40 distribution and transmission like workers are going to Massachusetts to help restore electricity in the New England state.

NB Power says it is a member of the Northeast Mutual Assistance Group which receives requests for assistance during major events like Sandy.

The utility says it’s first priority is always to customers in New Brunswick.
