SAINT JOHN, N.B. – New Brunswick’s new health minister says there’s no need for the gloves to come off in discussions about the future of English and French health care services in the province.

Ted Flemming was responding to comments from ‘Egalite sante en Francais,’ which says the province needs to ramp up efforts to have French services equal the English ones.

Speaking on The Todd Veinotte Show, Flemming disputes a suggestion that there is a severe imbalance in services provided to Francophones.

“To make such a statement that the French people in this province have gotten nothing, that’s a pretty outrageous statement.”

Flemming says all New Brunswickers have a right to top-end medical services, but he says those services need to be sustainable.
