MONCTON, NB – New technology developed by a New Brunswick company will help guests at next month’s World Wine and Food Expo in Moncton.

Yan Simard, CEO of Fredericton-based Zaptap, says instead of relying on memory or a wine catalog, expo guests will be able to use their smartphone to track which products they prefer.

“What we wanted to do is to allow people to get more information on the wines but also being able to mark them on their phone so that they can retrieve the information later,” notes Simard.

By scanning a product tag with their smartphone, guests will receive more information on that product later in an email.

Simard says Zaptap currently has deals pending to use the technology with more than 15 retail brands.
