MONCTON, NB – Moncton’s Karing Kitchen serves up it’s 2-millionth meal today.
The Alma Street soup kitchen opened it’s doors 27 years ago.
It dishes up about 500 meals a day to needy folks in Greater Moncton.
Board Chair Mark Gourley says the kitchen has inspired many volunteers throughout the years.
“When you see our clients and the way they interact with our volunteers. You see the need that’s served. You just want to jump in and get involved.” says Gourley.
Gourley says volunteers are always welcome to come lend a hand.
The Karing Kitchen operates 5 days a week out of the basement of St. John’s United Church.
