MONCTON, NB–A series of meetings that are pushing for better rail service in the Maritimes will be held in Moncton tonight.

The project called “National Dream Renewed” has been supported by Greater Moncton’s three mayors.

The campaign was started by a group called Transport Action Atlantic and it was created in response to cutbacks of VIA Rail service that were announced earlier this year.

Moncton is the second stop on the tour.

Tonight’s workshop will be held in Council Chambers starting at 7pm.

Future workshops are planned for Campbellton, Bathurst and Miramichi on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  The final worskhop will be held at Edmundston town hall on October 18.
