MONCTON, N.B. – A Labrador man is now one-million dollars richer.

John Murphy hails from the small remote community of Nain, and was in Moncton today to pick up his winnings at Atlantic Lottery headquarters.

He won the money on the scratch and win game ‘Extravaganza Millions.”

Murphy says the money will come in handy to help pay for his upcoming wedding.

He says he also plans to buy a home and help family members pay off their debts.

Until he was ready to make the trip to Moncton, Murphy decided to store the winning ticket in the safest place he could think of – the local police station in Nain.
