MONCTON, N.B. – The storm dumped only about 32mm of rain to the Truro region, which may not seem like much, but it was enough to cause widespread flooding.

Resident Darrel Reid tells Global News he’s never seen anything like it.

“We I’m born and raised in Truro and it’s unbelievable how much water is flowing through here right now and the speed of which it’s going.”

Meteorologist Richard Zurawski says Tropical Storm Leslie is barrelling towards Newfoundland this morning.

“She’s expected to make landfall around 9am or 10am probably along the Burin Peninsula someplace.”

Leslie will be packing winds of up to 120 kilometres an hour and the storm has prompted rainfall warnings for much of Newfoundland and Cape Breton.
