MONCTON, NB -Codiac RCMP are continuing to crackdown on internet child luring and exploitation with some alarming numbers being reported in the region.

Superintendent Marlene Snowman revealed in a report to Moncton City Council this week that 740 computer users in the Codiac region were luring children to some degree in just a nine-day period last year.

Snowman says although the number of computer users has been dropping due to charges being laid, it only means some users have become savvy making work for police more difficult.

Snowman says Codiac will soon have two full-time Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) investigators in place.
