FREDERICTON – The New Brunswick Medical Society has released details on a series of recommendations it has made to the Alward government as it prepares to release a new provincial health plan in the fall.

About four hundred physicians were surveyed by the society recently.

Medical Society C.E.O. Anthony Knight one of the forty recommendations surrounds a desire by doctors to tackle the issue of obesity on a province wide basis…

“We’ll be launching a healthy living campaign in the fall in response to this,” Knight says. “We want to encourage children, families and schools – and even work places for their parents – to incorporate healthy, active living and good lifestyle maintenance.

Knight credits Health Minister Madeleine Dube with being accessible and open to what physicians have to say.
