MONCTON, NB–It appears that motorists still aren’t getting the message when it comes to the cell phone while driving ban in New Brunswick. and they’re also not buckling up.

Codiac RCMP patrolled the downtown core yesterday, targeting motorists who were using their handheld devices or not wearing a seat belt.

25 tickets were handed out.  12 of them for for failing to wear a seat belt, and the other 11 for using a cell phone while behind the wheel.

Both offences carry fines of over $172.
