MONCTON, N.B. – Rogers Communications has launched the world’s fastest mobile network technology in Greater Moncton.

Until today, L-T-E, or Long Term Evolution, was only available in major cities and just two other cities in Atlantic Canada, Halifax and St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Rogers Atlantic President Ken Marshall says it’s where the wireless industry is headed.

“Basically, it’s the gold standard in wireless technology.  It offers the world’s fastest mobile speeds, averaging 12 to 25 megabytes a second, which is certainly on par with any wire line connection today.”

L-T-E allows users to download files, stream video, and play online games with virtually no delays or buffering.

Also on hand for today’s announcement was Premier David Alward, who said L-T-E has the power to change the way we do business.
