MONCTON, N.B. – There have been some recent changes to Moncton’s River of Pride committee.

Crandall University and its discriminatory hiring policy against gays and lesbians have become a major issue for the committee in recent months.

The group’s media coordinator Sebastien Bezeau says some committee members felt pressure to become more political in their stance, and numerous members stepped down.

But Bezeau says new members have been recruited, and have brought a breath of fresh air to the committee.

Meantime, Pride Week activities continue this weekend in Moncton, ending in the Pride parade in downtown Moncton on Sunday afternoon.
