Two environmental groups are calling for the creation of a public transit agency to cope with the eventual demise of Acadian Lines.
The Halifax-Based Ecology Action Centre and the Atlantic Canada Sustainable Energy Coalition say the agency could be modelled after the Saskatchewan Transportation Company.
The Provincial Crown Corporation provides bus service to nearly 300 communities across the province.
