DIEPPE, NB–THE 8th annual Dieppe International Kite Festival has officially taken flight.

Event Coordinator Denis Leblanc says more than 75 kite flyers from around the world will be at Dover Park from now until Sunday starting at 1-pm.  “We have some from France, England, Holland, and Switzerland, and several others.  We have ten countries in total.”

Leblanc says the kites will fly rain or shine.  “Kite flyers that we invite are the best of the best, so they’ve got different kinds of kites for different kinds of weather.  Either high wind or low winds, there’s almost always kites in the air.”

A series of giant inflatable games will also be on hand for the younger crowd.

There will be kite-flying demonstrations  and visitors will even have a chance to make their own kites.

The Festival runs until 1pm on Sunday at Dover Park.
