FREDERICTON, N.B. – Part of the Trans Canada Highway through New Brunswick has been officially named the Highway of Heroes.

Two large signs have been erected along Route 2 – one near Mazerolle Settlement and the other in Lower Burton marking the change.

The designation pays tribute to soldiers, peacekeepers, police and firemen who have died in the line of duty.

Premier David Alward was among the dignitaries who attended a commemoration ceremony yesterday in Fredericton.
