MONCTON, NB – Codiac RCMP would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a fatal hit-and-run accident in the Hub City.

The collision, involving a cyclist and a vehicle, happened at around 10:50 on Tuesday night on Lewisville Road near Dowd Street.

A cyclist, who has been identified as 58-year-old Darrell Gerard Henwood, was rushed to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The driver failed to stop at the scene and a 23-year-old man was arrested a short time later.

The man was later released and there’s been no decision on whether charges will be laid.

Police are asking anyone who saw what happened to call Codiac RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
